Who we are

Find My Pack and Furr Finder are community-specific versions of the same service, providing meet information, lift coordination and community messaging features.

Both websites use the same account system and database. An account created through either website can be used on both. The domain you visit and your community-display preference determine which community content is shown; they do not create separate accounts.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may hold:

• Your username and email address.
• A securely hashed version of your account password.
• Profile information you choose to provide, including an approximate location.
• Lift offers and requests that you create.
• Messages exchanged with other members.
• Favourite meets, reviews and feedback.
• Reports, blocks and moderation records.
• Login, verification and password-reset tokens.
• Basic technical and security information needed to operate and protect the service.

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

• Create and secure your account.
• Provide meet and lift-sharing features.
• Enable communication between members.
• Send essential account and message notifications.
• Investigate reports and enforce community rules.
• Prevent fraud, misuse and unauthorised access.
• Meet legal and regulatory responsibilities.

Our lawful bases

We process information where it is necessary to provide the service you have requested, where it is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service and its members, where you have given consent, or where we have a legal obligation.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information.

Information may be handled by trusted service providers needed to operate the service, such as website hosting and email-delivery providers. These providers may only use information as necessary to provide their services.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, or where necessary to protect somebody's safety.

Messages and lift details are visible to the other members involved in those features.

How long we retain information

Account information is normally retained while your account remains active. When an account-deletion request is completed, identifying account information is removed or anonymised.

You can initiate account deletion from the mobile app or visit our account-deletion page .

Some safety, report, transaction and audit records may be retained where reasonably necessary to protect members, resolve disputes, prevent abuse or meet legal obligations.

Security

We use measures including password hashing, secure access tokens, access controls and encrypted HTTPS connections to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to:

• Access your personal information.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your information.
• Restrict or object to processing.
• Receive certain information in portable form.
• Withdraw consent where processing relies on it.

The right to erasure is not absolute, and certain records may need to be retained in limited circumstances. The ICO provides more information about the right to erasure .

Complaints

Please contact us first if you have concerns about how your information has been handled. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
